The gentlemen of Vinyl Flashback are dedicated to rocking the night away with all your quintessential favorite classic rock tunes from the ‘60’s, ‘70’s and ‘80’s – from bands like The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, ZZ Top, and more.
Based in Austin, Texas, this five-piece group of well-accomplished musicians is fully loaded with three vocalists; lead, rhythm and bass guitarists; a keyboardist; and a live drummer. The list of vintage music Vinyl Flashback covers is impressive, and when on stage – whether you’re into anthems or ballads – the crowd is sure to jam out with nostalgia.
Lead vocals, rhythm guitar: Chris is no stranger to classic rock music. He has an innate passion for hard-driving power chords and melodic lead vocals. Originally influenced by artists like Led Zeppelin, Van Halen, and Rush, he has also, over time, used his musical talents in the genres of country, folk, and theatrical music. A native of Texas, you can find Chris just as comfortable on a classic rock stage as in a honky tonk.
Drums, vocals: Geoff has been a drumming machine for over 40 years - starting in Southern California, where he grew up listening to 70’s and 80’s rock’n’ roll on the most iconic Los Angeles radio stations at that time. Geoff has a keen knack for reciting little-known musical facts. His biggest influences are the likes of Phil Collins, Neil Peart and Keith Moon, and those same influences have inspired Geoff to develop his own serious rhythmic chops.
Keyboard: Born in Australia, Warren’s debut on the keys was at a mere 8 years old, when his mother insisted he take piano lessons. Since then, he’s grown to be proud of his musical talents - essentially becoming the Elton John of the family. With tremendous grand piano aptitudes, and cleverness on the guitar, Warren and his keyboard are a key element to the Vinyl Flashback success. And watch out for this guy’s bridges - they’re perfection.
Bass guitar, vocals: lton Moore plays various instruments, but is usually relegated to the bass for the good of all concerned. Having moved to the Austin area in 2012, he has since discovered that there is no money in music here, but is still happy to play for tips and the occasional muted applause.
As a child of the Seventies, he appreciates Seventies, Classic, and Progressive
rock, in addition to the sort of country music that didn't use a synthesizer.
He also owns a spectrum analyzer, like a good nerd, and knows how to use it.
Rhythm/Lead Guitar: Ben originally hails from Nashville but you won’t hear any Country emanating from his guitar (he’ll always listen to some Johnny Cash, though). His early guitar influences range from Southern rock to Led Zeppelin with a dose of Neil Young thrown in. He has a soft spot for 70’s music but you’ll also find him at a Govt Mule or White Denim show. When he’s not playing music he may be found chasing a bunch of rescue animals around the house.
